1. LBA Full Membership:
Pre-requisites for applicants seeking membership of the Lao Bar Association include the following:

1. Be Lao Citizens.
2. Have a Law Degree.
3. Never have been convicted by the Court, except for minor offences.
4. Not be a public servant.
5. Have received training at the LBA for at least one year.

2. LBA Intern Program:
Before an applicant becomes member of the Lao Bar Association, he/she has to go through a training period of 1 year. Once this training is completed and if the Lao Bar Association considers that, a candidate's progress is of the required standard, the LBA will recommend to the Ministry of Justice that that candidate be accepted as a member of the LBA.
After becoming a Member of the Lao Bar Association, LBA Members are expected to attend continuous legal education trainings for enhancing their skills and knowledge base which builds their capacity and improves quality of legal services.
